Create the ultimate pool & spa paradise from the ground up in this cozy simulation game that offers endless creativity and challenges, whether you’re a seasoned waterpark magnate or a newbie pool start-up. Combine creativity, strategy, and management to satisfy the needs and wishes of your guests, and make a splash in the world of waterparks to become the ultimate Aquapark Tycoon!

Use your creativity to freely design custom water slides, including special sections such as steep bends, drops, funnels or black hole elements. Pools can be designed freely in any shape or depth, as well as customized with attractions, and water type & temperature settings, which directly influence the pool’s attractiveness towards different guest age groups. Just like pools, saunas can be designed in any shape, and customized with scents and furnishing, as well as their temperature & humidity. New attractions can be unlocked through research, which will attract more guests. Guests come in various age groups, all of whom have their own unique needs and preferences – and who may well get in each other’s way. This means good planning is crucial when building a park to really satisfy all guests!

History

Now that the team at Boxelware have been developing and maintaining their debut work Avorion for (in some cases) over 12 years, there were some who longed for a change of scenery. Boxelware wanted to take on new challenges and establish a second foothold as a studio. When the team sat down to think through new ideas for a possible future project, one of the topics that came up was that some team members would like to play a tycoon game for a water park. To the team’s great surprise, there were tycoon games for all kinds of settings: the well-known amusement parks and zoos, but also prisons, hotels and hospitals – but nothing for water parks. After a few days of brainstorming, calculation, meditation and research, the team unanimously decided to tackle this project.

Boxelware is once again running its own in-house engine to develop the game. Financial support through funding from FFF Bayern (FilmFernsehFonds Bayern) for the concept, the prototype and finally the production enabled the studio to hire new employees and develop the project with full focus without compromising the maintenance and further development of Avorion.

Konstantin Kronfeldner, game director for Aquapark Tycoon says: “Our goal for Aquapark Tycoon is for everyone in the game to be able to recreate their own favorite childhood swimming pool – no matter how large or complex the pool is.”
